Lazer Cutting Process

Extracting the silhouettes from trees, branches and roots and creating

artwork inspired by these elements to be lazer cut on to cork and bonded

on to linen or hemp fabric. Once the Artwork is finalised, bonded film is

heat pressed on the baking of cork fabric, then taken to the lazer cut studios,

where the artwork is lazer cut on the cork fabric. Once this process is completed, each piece of artwork manually heat pressed on to the garment with an iron.

Fraying

The process of fraying the edges of fabric are very simple and time consuming. A single stitch row is sewn along the hem a few centimeters above the edge to prevent the fabric from fraying any further. Another method that was developed was fraying along french seams gradually increasing the measurements, and by having french seams it secures the fraying on the right side of fabric with a clean finish on the reserve. This process was inspired by the gentle roots of plants, trees, and other mushrooms, representing  rawness and organic textures from in these elements.
