Sofia Angélica is a creative of Portuguese heritage who specialises in sustainable fashion design, garment construction and clo 3d pattern making. Her connection to nature and life itself is the core value of her work by celebrating natural fibers, ancient knowledge, community and sustainable practices.

By understanding how damaging and un-ethical the fashion industry is to our planet and to those involved in the supply chain , she committed on producing sustainable high-quality garments using natural fibers and materials that are certified, organic, vegan, recycled, renewable and biodegradable. Capturing the longevity of garments starts with the quality of fabrics and she believes that it is important to learn about the positive impact that plant fibers have on our physical health and our Mother Earth.

 

Recognising the complexity and time-consuming labour that goes into the craft provides us with a different view of our clothes. Clothes created with love and rooted in harmony with nature are far more than just commodities that can be easily discarded and replaced since we are connected to an artisan, a community, a culture and our planet. 

 

That is the ethos of her art; Sewing in harmony with nature and weaving the messages of our ancestors into our clothing. 

 

Inspired by the connection between humans and nature, she expresses that we are on mission to find new ways, to remember the ancient ways of creating, sewing and weaving in union with the earth. To weave to world back into its true essence, where we can live, create and share our passions while building a better future for ourselves and generations to come.
